The La Cañada Flintridge Educational Foundation (LCFEF) was founded in 1978 to provide a sustainable source of funding for the local public schools and, since its inception, has provided over $15 million in gifts to the La Cañada Unified School District (LCUSD). Comprised of a working group of volunteers from within the community, the Foundation raises funds to support class-size reduction in grades K-3 and 9th grade English and math; art, music, drama and Spanish instruction in the elementary schools; guidance counselors at each school; a media librarian and a college counselor at the high school; technology support, and more. For the 2007-2008 school year, the Foundation gave approximately $1.28 million to LCUSD.
