KIPP Academy Lynn is a new public middle schoolwhich opened its doors August 9, 2004. Beginning with the 2007-2008school year, KIPP Lynn is serving grades five through eight.KIPP Lynn works with a population of students whohave been historically underserved - 87% of our students qualify forthe free or reduced meal program and many enter below grade level.Our students are 56% Hispanic, 24% African-American and 20% Caucasian.KIPP Academy Lynn is a FREE public school modeledafter the nationally recognized, tested and proven Knowledge is PowerProgram (KIPP) in the South Bronx, New York and Houston, Texas. Theseschools work with a population of students similar to Lynn and, asmeasured by standard test scores, are the highest performing middleschools in their school districts. Principal Josh Zoia was a teacher atKIPP Bronx and was instrumental in building the success of the school.He brings that same knowledge and enthusiasm to Lynn.
