Global Impact Christian Academy was established in 2000 when Pastors Cedric and Dede Jefferson realized the need for at risk youth. An institution where students were not only taught academics, but identity, character and leadership; an environment where teachers demonstrate an interest in the children’s life as well as academic progress. A staff who can see the best in the students, even when the students can’t see the best in themselves.Global Impact Christian Academy started with a handful of students in an upstairs room above the church sanctuary. The space was small but the progress was great. Positive relationships were developed and students who were once labeled “special” were now on the “A-B” honor roll. Students labeled unruly or violent were overcoming conflict at home and school.As the students were mentored by teachers and Global Impact Ministries pastors, they began handling social challenges by “walking in love” toward one another instead of the “eye for an eye” approach. Since opening day, Global Impact Christian Academy has maintained a strong student-teacher ratio and has maintained an above 90% honor roll. We are pleased to have graduated 2 seniors with high school diplomas, 8 seniors with college prepatory diplomas and 5 of those seniors with high honors. Global Impact Christian Academy has graduates listed with the who’s who among American High School Students and the National America Scholars Association. Global Impact Christian Academy Alumni have been accepted by Louisiana College and Louisiana State University at Alexandria. Some Global Impact Christian Academy Alumni comments are: “It’s better here (than public school), if I need help, I can get it easily.
