Hello and Season's Greetings to All.

I am writing you today to give you exciting news and an update on some of MMC's goals for the coming year.

First, the news: As you may know, MMC has been involved in a legal case regarding our right to purchase the property that we have leased for many years. On December 12th, Judge Garcia entered final judgement in favor of MMC in the case. This is a major milestone for us because it means that we can now purchase the property! We will do so within the next 90 days.

As Robert and our team work to make this happen, we are also now able to make the necessary plans and arrangements to complete Phase I of the develpment of our marine mammal rehabilitation facilty.

Now, an update on our Goals for 2009: With the ability to finally reach these two important goals closer than ever, our fundraising efforts are now also more important than ever before. In the current troubled state of our economy, we know that you, our supporters, need creative ways of helping MMC--turning your everyday purchases into much-needed contributions, at no extra cost to you.

As a Director of the MMC Board for the past decade, I'm very conscious of my own financial limitations. Every time I spend a dime, I wish that I could be sending it to MMC, but like you, I have financial obligations and responsibilities that keep me from being able to give as much as I wish I could.

In the past, MMC has enrolled in various programs designed to generate contributions from our members by providing you with our E-Mall link and weekly shopping specials, and the opportunity to contribute through the Goodsearch program.

We have been so grateful for your support in these ways, and we now have a way to really maximize those types of programs by combining a large variety of services offered to generate contributions through one central program. That is why I have arranged for MMC to sign up with OneCause.com. I hope that you will embrace the OneCause process with MMC by signing up to support us with OneCause, yourselves!

OneCause offers a large variety of ways that our supporters can make a huge difference to MMC's fundraising efforts. OneCause even offers MMC supporters a Visa card through Chase as well as the ability to register their existing credit/debit accounts with the program so that every dollar you spend with your OneCause Chase Visa or your existing cards literally sends a percentage of contribution back to MMC--AT NO COST TO YOU.

Because you all have already expressed your desire to help MMC by enrolling on our "E-Specials" mailing list, I am contacting you regarding this new and improved way to generate contributions to MMC through OneCause.com. As always, MMC is kind of fanatic about protecting the privacy, safety and identity of our supporters. We trust the OneCause program and have complete faith in its ability to protect you, as well.

If you would like to start before the holiday shopping opportunity is over (for those of you like me who, uh...haven't yet completed that chore, ahem!), you can do so by joining OneCause immediately.

If you aren't ready to decide this minute, but want more information, we are going to send you some emails that will give you a link to the internet to learn more about OneCause. Within the next 90 days, you will receive a series of 5 emails that will remind you of where to go to learn more about supporting MMC through OneCause. To protect you from receiving unwanted emails from our OneCause program, as always, each time we send you an email it will offer you a link to opt out of receiving further posts. It has always been paramount to MMC that we give our supporters this control and that will not change.

Through the years, you have been with MMC, helping in every way that you could to ensure we are able to continue our work on behalf of Marine Mammals. Your support has been extraordinary, and we want you to know how much we appreciate and depend on your belief in what we do.
