My tag line pretty much says it all. I was a music educator for 33 years [not counting my pre-degree years]. I taught almost all types of music education ensembles and groups including bands [concert, marching, jazz, pep], choruses [school chorus, select vocal ensembles, church choirs], limited exposure to strings, classroom music [K-8], guitar classes, music theory, music history, music appreciation. I was president-elect, president, executive vice-president of the Maine Music Educators Association, Maine representative to the Eastern Division Conference and the National Music Educators Conference. My undergraduate degree was earned at the 1929-1972 Northern Conservatory of Music and my masters degree was earned at the University of Maine, Orono where I served as assistance conductor of the Symphonic Band and was inducted into the Collegiate Music National Honor Society. I retired in 2004 and currently work as a Computer Technician in a local school system. Technology has been another interest of mine and it influenced my music education methods considerably starting the 1980's. I enjoy motorcycling and Radio Controlled planes and helicopters. That's about it for now.. I'll be back later with more!
