Blind Boone Park was originally built during segregation for the black community. It contained a bathroom and two double sided BBQ grills. The Blind Boone Park Renovation Group, formed and directed by Sandra Irle, began work on the park's renovation in 2000. While renovating the park, we maintained that we should not forget the past and that we should create a new future for the park with that in mind. Now a beautiful testamony to the volunteer spirit of our community, the park is ADA and includes a walkway for the blind with audio signs and sensory features. Come and visit soon!
