  "MOVE YOUR TALE"

A T.V. exercise program linked to classic & original story tales.

Atlanta, February 27, 2009--TellTale Theatre has come up with a solution to help combat childhood obesity in the Metro-Atlanta area. Atlanta Interfaith Broadcast Network and TellTale Theatre are teaming up to bring Move Your Tale, a television series aimed to get children excited about exercising, to Metro-Atlanta homes.

Move Your Tale is a children’s television program that will focus on the physical fitness of elementary age children. The purpose of the series is to enlighten, lift the spirit and encourage physical health and well being among children.

Shows will include high energy exercises that originate from systems and sports such as yoga, gymnastics, dance, martial arts, theatre games, isometrics, and more. Original and classical tales will be tied into the shows to help instill social and personal values as well as enhancing children’s love of literature. Nutrition tips, “Crazy Moves” of the day and life lessons will also be in the episodes to help give children a well rounded guide to leading positive lives. The goal of Move Your Tale is to guide children to live happier, healthier lives and to have a joyful appreciation of the arts.

According to studies done in 2005 by the Georgia Department of Human Resources, Division of Public Health, one in four third-graders in Georgia were obese. One of the largest factors in childhood obesity is the lack of physical activity. Move Your Tale will encourage children to get up and participate in learning exercises while at home with family or at school with friends.

TellTale Theatre has enhanced the lives of 1.4 million children since its founding in 1986.The mission of TellTale is the “imagination education” of young minds and open hearts through the presentation of original, professional plays. TellTale has partnered with many of the best arts organizations in the southeast including the Knoxville Symphony, Pandean Player, Seven Stages Theatre, Theatre in the Square and Gwinnett Fine Art Symphony. They also worked with the Clean Air Campaign of Georgia and presented the original play “Fresh Air” to nearly 100,000 children to date.

TellTale is now taking years of experience in theatre on the stage and bringing the same spirit and energy to the television. To learn more about Move Your Tale or to make donations to the organization please email telltaletheatre@mindspring.com or visit www.telltaletheatre.com.
