Luv Shack Ranch Volunteer Appreciation Pot Luck Bandit and more..... September 3, 2009 WOW! Our first Volunteer Appreciation Pot Luck was a HUGE success!! We had about 60 people show up... Great food and wonderful conversation!! Bet you didn't know that we have some ghost hunters as volunteers...and an Olympic hopeful, a retired Air Force officer and someone who has a frog for a pet!! If you didn't come out for this event, I hope you'll make our next one. We all had a blast..and the food...yum! And Vicky FINALLY realized what a great job she did in organizing our event! She smiled her happiest of smiles!! We were proud and happy to surprise Dannielle with a trophy for being our "Volunteer of the Quarter". She is our Ranch manager, and is out on the property everyday...she keeps everything working smoothly so that all of our horses and other residents are in good shape and great health....From feeding the chickens and goats, getting supplements for the horses, going over schedules for the horses vet care....on and on and on....we are lucky to have her as a volunteer. Dannielle is also on the Board of Directors for the ranch....Joey is truely blessed to have such a dedicated and wonderful woman as her Ranch manager! Bandit.... Bandit is a gelding who was a rescue at LSR. Terry had adopted Bandit and they participated in a natural horsemanship competition a few years ago at Mike Stacey's. Bandit and Terry came in FIRST place! Way to go Bandit! At this same competition, Georgia rode her horse, Jamboree, and they came in third... Some of you might not know that Jamboree lost his life a few months ago to the dreaded Colic that horses can get. Georgia has been hoping and praying to find just the right horse to LUV as she LUV'd Jambi....so we jump forward to yesterday... Bandit was returned to LUV Shack and just as he came off the trailor Georgia saw him...Well, as is destined to happen at LSR, it was LUV at first site for Georgia and Bandit. Bandit will remain with our herd for awhile, he is the new paint in the group. He has to gain some weight and get the thrush that he has on all four hooves cleard up... We are so happy for Georgia and Bandit!! Just one more LUV story from LSR!! NEXT EVENT: VINO 100 - September 25 - 7:00 $15.00 per person / $25.00 per couple pre-paid and $20.00 per person / $35.00 per couple at the door. This will be a fun night of wine tasting, CHOCOLATE, and entertainment....be there or be square!! 30835 N. Cave Creek Road #125 Contact Bobbie Darzes: 602-750-6517 for info.
