Experts from the BSPB made field check-up of the tracking data from Imperial Eagle, tagged with satellite transmitter in 2008. The transmitter was placed on a juvenile bird nesting in Sakar. In 2009, the same eagle spent much time in Northeastern Bulgaria. The BSPB team checked GPS points "left" by the bird, while collected data about the eagle’s food base in the region and existing threats.
The good news was that at one of the visited points two Imperial Eagles in transitional plumage were seen. This is evidence that birds visit the area. Data collected by the expedition, satellite telemetry and observation points of migration, demonstrates that the region of Ludogorie is a place of temporary settlement of the juvenile Imperial Eagles.
