We are the local SCV camp in Chicago. We are named after the Union POW camp that was located in Chicago near 31st and Cottage Grove Ave. During the War Between the States, 6000 men perished in this camp. the Andersonville of the North. The dead are interred in the largest mass grave in the Western Hemisphere located at 63rd and Cottage Grove in Oakwood Cemetery. We only have the names of 4000 men, the other 2000 are known only to God. We thank you for joining our cause and for being a Supporter.
