The Northern Conservatory of Music [hereafter referred to as NCM] was a private post secondary institution providing training in music and music education. NCM was housed in the Isaac Farrar Mansion located on the corner of Second Street and Union Street in Bangor, Maine. During the 43 years that conservatory was in operation, many of the students were from Maine and other New Englad states. For many of those students, it was an opportunity for them to not only study together but to build life-long friendships that continue to this day. The Alumni Association of the 1929-1973 Northern Conservatory of Music [hereafter referred to Association] was established with the purposes of continuance of the memory of NCM and the establishing of a scholarship program to assist college students who are majoring in music education.
